Thomas Jefferson High School Monogram |

"You may have noticed that the TJ monogram looks a little different from some you have seen in recent use. However, we believe that this one is more "authentic." Sue Estes, wife of Howard P. "Bootie" Estes, is a commercial artist. She researched the monograms in use in 1957 and found that the ones we have seen more recently are probably a corruption of the earlier monograms, possibly influenced by the John Marshall design. Using old annuals, cheerleader pictures, and other sources, she has "restored" the monogram to the one in use in the late 1950's. This is the one we will be using for our reunion publications and related items." |
