From Joe Davis:

Great idea....and nice to see news from those many great folks,,,,friends from 'long ago'. I, too am lurching toward the finish line of my 80th lap around the Sun. Will be bumping through the barrier, I hope, in mid-April. For all us 'elders' here's a Dr.Seuss book I highly recommend:

From Bette Allan Collins:

Wow! Hearing about everyone is fun! I so enjoyed the reunion, but of course, you can't talk to everyone. And when I read the long list of classmates who didn't make it this far, I do count my blessings.

I am in Charlottesville and have been in the city or just outside since the late 1960s.Been sort of retired since 2010, but my work is in editing finance and economic papers, so I still work some at home. Mostly for CFA Institute (side note: I used to work there, and since then, they have moved into the restored and expanded old Martha Jefferson Hospital, where both my kids were born! OK, you can't keep an old historian down.)

I'm going to celebrate turning 80 (in September) early by a family jaunt to NYC in early June. We're taking the latest joy of my life, the twins. They turn six while we're in the Big Apple seeing "The Lion King." I'll be doing nostalgia (going up by train) and 21st century (airbnb and Uber for the first time!)

Soooo glad to have my first cousin, Sue Wilson Sproul, moving back to Virginia!

From Ken Anderson:

Ame (Class of ’58) and I are enjoying getting back to our hometown after living in Blacksburg for 48 years. It was a good place to raise our three (above average) children. They managed to get into prestigious universities (Ga. Tech/VCU, UNC/Carnegie Mellon. JMU) without Mom and Dad paying bribes.

I managed to get into Va Tech on my own and graduated in Civil Engineering in 1962. Got a commission in the US Army Corps of Engineers and shipped out to Germany for 1963-64. Ame was able to join me there. We had some great experiences including attending the May Day rally in East Berlin in 1964. Our son was born in a former German Army hospital in Wurzburg.
