The major part of my working career was at Salem College where I founded an adult degree program which was later named the Martha H. Fleer Center for Adult Education. After Salem I was a Senior Consultant for Whitney Jones managing capital campaigns and strategic planning for non profits including mainly museums and schools. I loved both careers. We have three wonderful children and seven grandchildren located in Asheville, Maryland and Los Angeles. Reading all the notes thus far from our TJ classmates reminds me how fortunate we were to have such a great high school experience. |

From John Loving: After TJ and four years at UR, I enlisted in the Army Security Agency and spent nine months with Russian studies at the Language School in Monterey, California. This was followed by three years in Frankfurt, Germany with Uncle Sam. After returning to Richmond, I enrolled in the Episcopal Seminary in NYC, where I met Nancy Ward, and we were married following graduation in 1967. Following ordination, I served as assistant at the Church of the Ascension in Norfolk and rector at Johns Memorial Church in Farmville for thirteen years. We then went to Ponca City, Oklahoma and from there to Emmanuel Church in San Angelo Texas, from which I retired in 2003. Since that time we have lived in Austin, TX., where I have done interim and supply work over the years. |
