professor of nursing in Maryland and Stuart  is with Lexmark . They both still play soccer several times a week!!!  Five granddaughters and one grandson are all much taller than I am and they are keeping the colleges and universities rich these days.  They all play soccer.  We all went to Women’s World Cup in Canada for Randy’s 80th .

Specializing in social studies and global affairs when I began teaching in KY opened doors….I have had fellowships to Greece and Japan and Randy’s sabbaticals from the UK History Dept. have afforded us numerous opportunities to live and work in Italy .  This is the first year I have not been a Teacher Educator for UK but I am still teaching ESL weekly as a volunteer.  In my next life I intend to be bilingual.  Walking and concerts give us pleasure  but  we are attending far too many funerals these days. Stay well and please be in touch if you are in our part of the world!

From Harry Hodges:

Well, I have enjoyed the stories and always wondered why we had not collected the bios of so many.  All of the stories are of interest and at our ages status (snobbery) hardly matters.  We, of course, are the lucky ones in that we are still here.

Went from TJ into the Air Force.  My father & I disagreed about college and I knew I wasn't ready given my graduation at the bottom of the class.  My first work was as a technician working in a specialized laboratory performing analytical chemistry and radiation measurement.  At the time the work was highly classified but now declassified as 'monitoring compliance with the nuclear test ban treaty'.  I worked in Alaska as they became a State then on to Japan.  My outfit tolerated and encouraged education so I did the first two years of college at night taking classes from UnivMD-overseas and Sophia University-Tokyo.  I qualified for a commissioning program and a scholarship.  I graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology (Cumma Sum Laude - keeping score now). I majored in Photographic Sciences.  The Vietnam war was winding down and I was lucky to qualify for an advanced degree scholarship. I graduated from the U of Arizona with a Masters in Optical Physics. In the Air Force I worked on ultra high speed photography, then reconnaissance systems, then on drone systems engineering. I was the Chief Engineer for Cruise Missile testing.  After Air Force retirement I worked mainly for a defense contractor as a systems engineer leading a group working in survivability and nuclear effects, particularly Electromagnetic Pulse.  Nearing retirement, I worked large scale emergency services communications projects in several states and in the UK.
